The only living God

I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” Galatians 2:21

I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. Galatians 3:5

We serve the ONLY LIVING GOD. Do we 'get' that? He is not imagined, not made of wood, stone, or created at all. This, in itself, is something to ponder for days. I was in prayer this morning and the thoughts that came tumbling 'forth' out of this thought are cripplingly humbling and freeing to me. Here goes....

It only makes sense that there would be nothing we can do to save ourselves...He would 'have' to provide the way because He is the beginning and end of all things, He is eternal...everlasting. He is righteousness. He is Justice. He, in Himself, is the 'bar' that all things are compared. There is nothing pure outside of Him, nothing exists apart from Him and no one is saved from the wrath of God in Hell without the blood of Jesus Christ..no one. He could not, and will not, accept anything but Himself. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, became sin on my behalf and imputed righteousness to me...I am made the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ(2 Cor.5:21). This is so humbling...I stand in awe of this grace of our God...this mercy.

In light of this:
~"I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Phil.1:9-11
~"...live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ." Phil.1:27
